Interview with Andrea

How long have you been a coach and how did you get to be a Work/Life Balance Expert?
I have been a Certified Professional Coach since 2006.  However, I’ve been coaching friends, family, co-workers and colleagues for many years before that.  While working in Corporate America, I realized that I was a Type A personality that was so driven that I spent most of my time focused on achieving success at work.  I was quite out of balance but I wasn’t the only one in that situation.  When I finally decided to branch out on my own, I realized so many women struggle as I did.  I started coaching other women who had similar stories about the difficulty of managing their lives while trying to achieve success at work.  I help those women put things in proper priority so that they can find balance and truly adore the life that they are living.

Who is your ideal client?
My ideal client is a professional woman who is either works in Corporate America and is looking to find ways to live her dream or a female business owner who has taken the leap and is looking for ways to live the dream or a busy working mom who has so much on her plate that though she has a desire for more, hasn’t figured out how to go after her dream or a woman who has paid her dues working for someone else but has received disappointing results for her efforts.

What if I need something different than work/life balance support?
As a Certified Professional Coach, I am trained in the process of Life Coaching.  We would need to have a conversation with to determine if there is a good fit.  While I can coach in a variety of areas, sometimes it is best if I refer you to one of my colleagues that specialize in your particular area of concern.

How are you different from other life coaches?
I am different from other life coaches because I am me.  I bring my unique skills, gifts, talents, and experiences to the coaching relationship.  My coaching style is nurturing and supportive.  I function as a guide and when permitted offer suggestions and insights that will help you reframe and shift your perspective.  As a Christian, I bring a view that all things are possible to those who believe.  I also have a spiritual perspective that is founded on God’s word.  I believe that all the spiritual laws work; we just have to learn how to work them.  I have co-authored a book, “Keys to the Kingdom” and I’m finalizing my second book “PurposeQuest.”  I believe that God has equipped me to support, nurture and empower women so that they can impact their families, communities, nation and the world.

“The purposes of a man's heart are deep waters, but a [wo] man of understanding draws them out.” Proverbs 20:5

What types of personality do you like working with and what do you expect from me?
I enjoy working individuals who take personal responsibility for their lives.  These people have a no excuse attitude when it comes to achieving their goals.  They have integrity both in words and action; in other words they do what they say they are going to do.  In addition, they honor promises both to themselves and others.  The individuals that I have the most success with are those who take action and are not afraid to do the work required to get to the place that they desire to be.  My expectation of all my clients is that they show up fully to the coaching experience, that they are prepared, and that they are open to the process.  My clients are fully committed to themselves, their goals and the coaching relationship.  They are willing to do the work that is required to experience the breakthroughs that they desire.  They have a ‘no excuse’ attitude about getting to the next level.

What type of person is this program NOT a good fit for?
My coaching programs are not for people who have a victim mentality or those who blame others for their current situation.  In addition, my programs are not for whiners, complainers, or excuse makers.  This program is not ideal for individuals who need other types of support like therapy, counseling, mentoring or consulting.
• Therapy focuses on past events
• Counseling is based in the past and focused on fixing a problem
• Psychology focuses on intervention
• Consulting provides advice
• Mentoring passes on benefits of specific experiences
• Coaching is forward looking and focused on ACTION taking
I believe there is absolutely nothing wrong with you.  My job as your coach is to help you discover what God has placed inside of you and help you figure out how to use it to create and live the life of your dreams.

What is the PurposeQuest Coaching System™ and what does it include?
Stay tuned to find out specific details about this coaching system.  It will be based on my soon to be released book: Purpose Quest.  In the process of writing this Christian Living book last year, I developed a manual as well as a prayer book.  Coming soon will be an online program where you will be able to be coached by me in an online/on-demand format.

Does coaching really work?
Coaching is an amazing opportunity to have someone listen (really listen) to you and reflect what is going on in your life.  While you can talk to other people such as family members and friends inevitably they interrupt, influence or impact you in a way that you end up never expressing your authentic self.  In the coaching experience, I hold a space for you to show up fully and express yourself.  I do this without judgment.  I also actively listen with the goal of being able to reflect back to you what I’ve heard to enable you to have breakthroughs.  In the end, I provide feedback and insights that help move you from where you are currently to where you want to be.  Coaching works, but only if you work it.  It requires active participation, authenticity, honesty, openness, and a willingness to do the work necessary to change.

What kind of results can I expect from coaching with you?
You can expect to work on some underlying beliefs that have been holding you back.  You can expect to face the fears that have been stopping you from moving forward.  You can expect to set goals and come up with a plan for executing them.  You can expect me to hold you accountable for the commitments you make.  You can expect to get clarity on what you really want and come up with solutions to your problems.  You can expect to identify obstacles and blockades that have been preventing your from being successful and come up with creative solutions to remove them.  You can expect to grow to the degree you are willing to put in the work.  I do not give advice.  I believe that the client already has everything inside of the to live a Life Without Limits.  My job is your coach is to ask powerful questions to help you uncover your hidden potential and to help guide you towards your destiny of personal and professional excellence. What are your current and former clients saying about working with you?

Here are a few quotes:

“She is always clear and calm, asking the questions I needed to hear. She is an excellent coach and a great role model for other coaches.”

How quickly will I see results?
This is totally dependent on the issue that you come to the coaching experience with and the amount of effort that you put into the process.  Coaching clients typically begin to see breakthrough within 3 -6 months of coaching with me.

How can I guarantee that I will see results in record time?
You will begin to see results more quickly if you do mindset work.  The mindset is the thing that holds most people back from achieving their goals.  No matter the issue that you show up with, if you work on your mindset, you will begin to see transformation more quickly.  Also, you have to be willing to do the work required to change your life.  As you know, if you always do what you’ve always done, you’ll always get what you’ve always gotten.

How does the program work and how will we work together?
Coaching with me is simple.  You decide how often you’d like to get support as well as the format.  You choose on-demand, group, or individual coaching.  We work together to determine the best fit for you.  This is not a one-size-fits-all approach so after consultation, we determine the best solution.

How long does this program last?
Depending on your needs, there are programs that last 6, 9 and 12 months.  We also have ongoing options for coaching memberships and online access.

Do people ever extend the program or sign up again?
Yes, often clients will go month-to-month or re-up their coaching services.  It depends on how much work still needs to be done at the end of the term.  Also, some clients go through the program and then desire to be in maintenance mode.

What are your coaching programs like?
I offer two types of coaching.  One is online/on-demand coaching where the coaching is self-paced.  In addition, I offer individual and group coaching.  There are three levels to the coaching programs I offer.

On-Demand Coaching:  Six month program includes on demand coaching content downloadable from my website, 1 monthly teleconference training session with Q&A, Play-back of recorded calls, and unlimited e-mail questions with responses posted on the website.

The three levels of coaching are:

What forms of payments do you accept?
I take checks, money orders and credit cards.

Okay, I want to work with you, how do I get started?
After completing a “get acquainted session” with me, we can determine if this is a good fit for us.  As you are interviewing me to see if I’m the right coach for you, I’m interviewing you to see if you are the right client for my coaching practice.  Once we determine that we would like to work with each other, then we can sit down and figure out which one of the packages suits you best.

I’m not sure I’m ready; can I sample your work to make sure?
You can book an initial coaching session for $150 for 45 minutes.  If you decide to sign a 3, 6, 9, or 12 month contract with me, then the cost of the session will be deducted from your contracted amount.

I’m really busy.  Even though I want to see changes in my life I don’t have a lot of time.  What kind of time investment is required?
The time commitment is dependent on the program that you choose.  You may be interested in signing up for the on-demand program until you have more flexibility with your time.  I encourage you to take a look at your priorities and determine which program is the best fit.  How much of an investment are you willing to make to change your life?  The answer to this question will help you determine if you are ready for coaching and which program is appropriate for where you are right now.

Ok, I’m ready to do this for me, but I still have questions.  How can I contact you?
Feel free to contact me via email at Coach@AndreaRichardsScott.com or via phone 202-709-7003.
